Your mission

As a Data Steward, you will be responsible for the governance, quality assurance and harmonisation of Registry data, ensuring alignment with OMOP CDM standards and EBMT initiatives. Support Study Units and hospitals in data collection initiatives for EBMT Registry data and studies. 

Responsibilities and Tasks

Data Stewardship:

• Design, implement and test new Data Collection Forms (DCFs), including versioning and harmonisation across form releases.
• Mapping of data collection forms to the OMOP CDM
• Providing input on data quality reports
• Conducting data quality campaigns on a regular basis and per request. Support query managers to effectively perform data quality activities in the Registry
• Documenting data policies and data standards, contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Review and provide feedback on study data collection initiatives

Project Coordination and Communication:

• Coordinate various data management related project activities within the Registry unit and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of the Registry infrastructure and functionality
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

 Training

• Carry out and assist with Data Management related training to EBMT staff and members
• Develop written and visual training materials 

• Fluent in English, excellent oral and written skills.
• Degree in the field of Biomedical Sciences, Health Care and/or Bioinformatics or similar.
• Experience as Data Manager, Data Steward, Data Custodian or related in research. 
• Experience with clinical databases, clinical standards (e.g. OMOP, CDISC) and vocabularies (e.g. SNOMED CT, MedDRA). 
• Experience with GitHub.
• R, Python, and/or SQL experience. 
• Familiarised with clinical and medical data (ideally haematology, immunology and/or HSC transplant programs and new cell therapies) 
• GDPR and GCP 
• Good communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people in a multicultural / multilingual environment. Analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, thorough. Proactive, able to adapt to a fast paced and ever changing work environment. Team player.

• Temporary contract for six months, with the prospect of a permanent contract.
• Holiday pro rata (12.5 working days, 6 months).
• Salary: 3,220 (scale 8.0) to 3,714 (scale 8.3) gross/month (depending on previous experience) plus 13th month payment and 8% holiday allowance.
• Start date: September/October
