Your Mission

Within the Finance Unit, the Accountant undertakes all aspects of bookkeeping, including reporting activities and all other (hands on) finance activities.


Responsibilities and Tasks:


The main responsibilities, tasks and activities (not limitative listed) are:

  • Processing the credit card transactions in the application and Bank statements.
  • Asset recording (depreciations, allocation).
  • Recording transactions of securities.
  • Reviewing/monitoring supplier invoices and correctness of recordings.
  • Reviewing, correcting and spreading general ledger transactions.
  • Preparation of sales invoices, VAT declarations and listing of intra-Community transactions.
  • Preparing/reviewing the payments.
  • Monitoring aging invoices (customers and suppliers) and perform actions.
  • Preparation of the budgets follow up and other requested stakeholder information.
  • Tracking contracts that comes from our legal/compliance unit.
  • Preparation and support the month-end close and year closing process.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in finances and accounting
  • > 4 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in executing accounting procedures
  • Experienced user of Microsoft products
  • Experience of working independently and reporting to various audiences
  • Experience of online bookkeeping software
  • Knowledge of accounting and (monthly) reporting
  • Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Power Query, PowerPivot, VBA)
  • Average written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dutch
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people in a multicultural / multilingual environment
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Team player
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule


Desirable

  • Experience of online banking
  • Knowledge of dashboards (i.e. PowerBI)
  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting
  • Knowledge of contract management

  • Based in Leiden or surroundings - attendance to EBMT offices 2 days per week and working remotely 3 days.
  • Full-time position (36 hours/week)
  • Flexible working hours (starting from 8 am to 10 am and finishing accordingly).
  • 1-month probation period.
  • Temporary contract for 12 months (possibility to renew the contract if both parties agree).
  • 25 days of vacation per year
  • Salary (full time) between € 3.500 and € 4.186 gross/month (depending on experience).
