The EBMT is a non-profit medical and scientific organisation which hosts a unique patient registry providing a pool of data to perform studies and assess new trends.

Your mission

Provide strategic leadership and management of administrative and operational functions for the Clinical Research and Registry Department, exercising authority for policy and strategic decisions. Achieve mission and goals through professional or managerial staff. Partner with Executive Director on organisational affairs.

 

The duties of this position are typically split between 10% operational, 70% management and 20% strategic. Responsible for the Department budget.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

●  Oversee the management of areas of responsibility. Direct staff including unit managers and provide leadership to achieve goals and vision of the organization. Responsible for hiring, training and retaining staff, career coaching, personal development for direct reports and accountable for the performance of employees.

Develop the business and administrative mission and goals for the department and oversee the implementation.

● Set the direction of a department’s internal Registry, Research and administrative policy development. Negotiate and influence on issues of organization wide impact. Serves as senior advisor to the Executive Director on research and policy development.

● Initiate and create strategic plans of considerable complexity and scope for department management. Consult and advise senior leadership. Oversee allocation of all resources.

Responsible for the success of the department. Develop and deliver complex, comprehensive, high level strategic modelling both short and long term and provide advice to senior leadership decisions. Oversee the management of the budget plan.

● Champion major initiatives, lead complex, high-visibility process redesign and innovation projects; develop and implement initiatives.

 

*In general terms, the small size of the EBMT and the wide variety of tasks performed require that all staff be prepared to occasionally perform tasks not specified above in a spirit of collaboration.

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biomedical sciences or related field.
  • Degree business administration (desirable)

 

      

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with clinical research
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, leading big teams (more than 50 employees)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Google tools.


 

Knowledge

  • Fluent in English, excellent oral and written skills.
  • Subject matter expertise for area(s) of responsibility e.g Data Sciences and Management, Clinical Research,
  • Financial expertise in accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting
  • Expertise in study grants and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Science industry standards, trends and/or regulatory requirements.


 

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, planning and change management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy in persuading and influencing a wide variety of people at various levels to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to influence people, solve problems, trouble shoot, think creatively and resolve conflicts. Exceptional negotiation and effective interpersonal skills negotiation and political acumen skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Expert analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships with staff and able to anticipate department’s staff’s needs.

  • Flexible schedule (starting from 8 to 10 am and finishing accordingly)
  • Full-time contract, 37.5 working hours per week
  • 25 working days of Annual leave + 15 days RTT
  • Salary range between 85.000-100.000€ gross per year, depending on previous experience

  • After probation period, EBMT supports nursery costs with a monthly supplement
  • Some days work from home and some days from the office (minimum 2 days at the office), although during the training period you will be mostly at the office.
